History of computer processor(1985-1993) part 3

1985:-Intel introduced the first 80386 also known as i386 or just 386,in Oct 1985. It is a 32-bit microprocessor and the first versions had 275,000 transistors.

1987:-The SPARC(Scalable Processor Architecture) processor was first introduced by Sun. Application of SPARC processors were used in symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) and non-uniform memory access (CC-NUMA) servers produced by Sun, Solbourne and Fujitsu, among others.

1988:-Intel 80386SX was introduced in 1988.It had a full 32-Bit Internal Architecture(8-, 16-, 32-Bit Data Types) and high speed CMOS I.C technology.

1991:-AMD introduced the AM386 microprocessor family in March 1991. This processor had max CPU clock rate MHz to 40 MHz, FSB(front-side bus) speeds 20 MHz to 40 MHz and Min. feature size 1.5 µm to 0.8 µm.

->In this year,Intel introduced the Intel 486SX chip with its floating-point unit, in April.

1992:-Intel introduced the 486DX2 microprocessor on March 2, 1992.It had a DX2 on a system with a 33 MHz bus would run at 66 MHz. Thus, a clock doubling ability that generates higher operating speeds.

1993:-Intel released the second generation of Intel Pentium processors on March.This processors were available between speeds of 60 MHz and 300 MHz and a 64-bit data bus.
